Time for change!

I am not a winter person. As most people were complaining about the London heatwave a few weeks back, I was happily trotting around in strappy sandals and silk pyjama suits whilst trying to find any reason to mention to my friends back home, In Australia, how glorious the weather's been. "It's even hotter than Spain"- was the sentence they heard from me weekly if not daily. I've been a terrible friend but how often do us, Londoners, get to brag about the weather?
Well its now the end of August and I can feel the air changing and it's time to put away my summer wardrobe and get out leather skirts and cashmere sweaters. My bragging rights are officially over. But I know that fashion doesn't have to suffer and that this very thought has kept me going every Autumn for the past thirty something years.
The one thing I love about Autumn, or Fall, as many of you say, is the colours and textures. Fall is when you get to say good bye to brights and neons for another nine months and embrace gorgeous greens, deep blues, and baby, black is back!
Oh how I missed my best friend Mr. Black. Too wintery you say? Too serious? Not at all! A little black dress and pop of colour in a form of a scarf, a handbag, or even shoes, and you look chic yet playful. Serious but with a sense of humour. Confessions of the Shopaholics comes to mind and the girl in the green scarf. I too want to be the girl in the green scarf or the girl with a green Birkin. And the green always looks best against black. Thats just the rules.
I can spend the whole afternoon looking through HEWI pages. Sometimes I'll even check "NEW IN" in the middle of the night (Don't tell my husband). And now I'm a woman on a mission.
My mission is to look good respite the rain, high winds, and low moods. And to show you my best picks for the rainy season. Like a good friend I'm going to encourage you to shop and like a Good Samaritan I will encourage you to recycle. This makes HEWI your perfect one stop shop.
I've put together a list of my favourite "Fall" items. Go on, treat yourself, and save the planet from pollution one dress at a time.
